JAPANESE AGENCIES SCORE WINS IN INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA, USA – Two Japanese companies captured Mobius First Place awards in the 2006 international Mobius Awards advertising competition.
McCann Erickson Japan Inc., Tokyo, won a First Place Mobius statuette in the Television/Education category for “Mr. Kato” for Microsoft. It also captured Second Place Certificates of Creative Excellence for “Cut It Out!” in the Print Advertising/Poster category, for client OLFA, and “The Cell Phone Made From Plants” in the Television/Environmental category for NEC.
Hakuhodo, Tokyo, won a first place Mobius award for “humanity” in the Television/Automotive category for Toyota Motor Corp.
The competition, which is in its 36th year, attracted entries from 35 countries and gave out 143 Mobius awards, 128 Certificates and 10 student awards. Germany took the most awards, 97, followed by the United States with 88 and United Kingdom with 29.
