AUSTRIA TAKES WINS IN MOBIUS AD COMPETITION

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA, USA – Austrian advertising agencies, led by Demner, Merlicek & Bergmann Werbegesellschaft GmbH, captured nine awards in the 2009 International Mobius Awards competition. The wins included three First Place Golden Statuette awards and two Student Awards.

Demner, Merlicek & Bergmann Werbegesellschaft GmbH, Vienna, won two First Place Mobius Golden Statuettes in the Online-Banners, Pop-Up, Etc., category for “Longest Banner” and “Webcam Banner.” The agency also won three Second Place Certificates for Outstanding Creativity for “Escalator” in New Media-Virals, “It’s Your Voice” in Television and “Proverbs” Campaign in Print-Poster.

MAB Media Audience Beratung GmbH, Vienna, captured a First Place Mobius Golden Statuette for “Parking Distance Control Scroll” in Website: Flash.

Also winning a Certificate for Outstanding Creativity was screenagers, Vienna, in Website: Flash for “screenagers” Campaign.

Winning student awards were Lukas Hueter, a former intern at Demner, Merlicek & Bergmann, Vienna, for “Painless” Mixed Media Campaign in Mixed Media/Integrated, which won in the Services-Other category, and, Max Brandl, a former intern at Jung von Matt/Alster Werbeagentur GmbH, Puch b. Hallein, for “The Art of Perception” in New Media: Social Networking, which won in the Automotive: Cars, Trucks, Motorcycles, etc. category.

The overall competition recognized competitors with 93 First Place Mobius Award golden statuettes, 105 Second Place Certificates of Outstanding Creativity, and 13 Student Awards. Twenty-nine countries participated and 20 produced winners in the 39th annual awards competition.
