Aussie creatives shine in Mobius competition

LOS ANGELES, CALIF., USA – Seven Australian advertising agencies, led by Three Drunk Monkeys, captured eight awards in the 2010 Mobius Awards international competition. The wins included a Best of Show award and two first places.

Three Drunk Monkeys, Sydney, won Best of Show and a First Place in Outdoor with “Sun Sound,” a promotion that encouraged the use of sun block. The agency also captured a First Place Mobius Golden Statuette for “Sun Sound” in New Media-Other.

The promotion was a reminder from the Cancer Council of Australia to avoid too much sun that causes skin cancer.

Winning Second Place Certificates in Mobius were Cartel Film Production, Brisbane, for “Face Up” in Television; Leo Burnett Melbourne, Southbank, for “Every 30 Seconds” in Television; Paranoid at The Feds Sydney, Sydney, for “Secret Training Camp” in Television; Plaza Films, Sydney, for “Slow Mo” in Television; The Collective Design Consultancy, Rozelle, for “Clover Hill” in Brochure/Book, and The Creative Method, Surry Hills, for “Marlborough Sun” in Package Design.

The competition awarded 56 First Place Mobius Award Golden Statuettes, 63 Second Place Certificates for Outstanding Creativity, and one Student Award. Entries came from 33 countries, and 15 produced winners in this 40th annual awards competition.
